Looking Back At 2000

Every year as the year is drawing to a close, I look back and examine what kind of progress we have made as a company, but this year in particular.

In the last year, I have seen the huge progress that we have made in terms of product development, customer service, company image and the number of new users who have come aboard.

Fueled by strong market conditions, we were able to bring on new development staff who helped bring about Version 3.21, by far our most powerful software package to date.

We improved the overall use of the program and made it easy for our users to download new software or upgrade their existing versions right over the phone.

We also made our first steps with the Imperial version of Power*Suite into the US and now the European and Middle Eastern markets as well. The number of users keeps growing, but more impressive is that we are now doing it on a global scale.

The future of Trivision is very bright and that is purely a result of our users who not only tell us what we need to do to improve the software, but also tell others about it, spreading the word about Power*Suite throughout the industry.

For that, we offer you our sincere thanks and hope that you will continue to let us and others know how we are doing.

On behalf of everyone at Trivision, I wish you the happiest of holidays and the very best in the New Year.

Sincerely,

R.W. (Bob) Sephton, P. Geol.

Client Survey

Since our last survey, we have made many changes to the software in an attempt to provide you with more features, while improving the software’s ease of use.

With that in mind, we wanted to see how we are doing and have included with this newsletter a customer survey for you to fill out.

The survey is your opportunity to let us know what you like, what you don’t like and what you would like to see added to future versions of the software.

It can be faxed to our office at (403) 777-9455, mailed in to our office, or completed online at our web site at www.powerlogger.com. Please take a few minutes and tell us your thoughts on what we can do to provide you with better software.

The results will be tabulated and available online in early 2001 as well as posted in the next newsletter in March so you can see what we’ve learned from your comments.

User Support

Since Version 3.21 came out last summer, our number of user support calls has dropped substantially. If you ever find yourself with a question that you can’t seem to answer, you can call us at (403) 777-9454 and we will help you get back on track.

If you have a support plan in place, there isn’t a support charge for the call. If you don’t have a support plan, the call is $20 for any call under 15 minutes and $40 for any calls over 15 minutes.

Added Support packages are also available – call for details!

Staff Changes

Well the last few years certainly went quickly for me as the Marketing Coordinator for Trivision. In that time, I have learned a great deal about software, business and geology thanks to doing technical support with many of you.

However, as the saying goes, all good things must end and so I will be leaving the company this month to pursue some new opportunities in the world of the Internet. In the interim I will be helping out with some of the marketing activities, but you can expect to see a new face in the office very soon.

So in case I don’t get the chance to see some of you before I leave; I wish everyone the best of luck in 2000.

TVD Module

Now Available

Tired of getting the True Vertical Depth (TVD) Gamma Ray plot from the Directional Hands? Trouble visualizing your build section or deviated holes in TVD without Logging While Drilling (LWD) tools? Wishing you could view your entire log in either Subsea Level (SSL) or TVD depths? Wish no longer. We are now able to represent the strip log in three different views using our new TVD module.

As long as you have survey data (deviation or directional) we can perform minimum curvature or drift angle survey calculations. With this information we can represent the striplog data graphically through Power*Log adjusting everything on the log to either a Measured Depth (MD), TVD or SSL views. Just think of all the second-guessing that will be replaced with actual accurate data.

Also in Power*Curve we can update your well path in TVD or SSL depths or represent it with both. It will be the user’s preference. The TVD module is now available at the low, introductory price of only $299, but only until January 31,2001.

After that date, it will go back to its regular price of $599, so act now and get yours today!

Current Research

&

Development

Curious what we have planned for upcoming versions of Power*Suite? Power*Suite can now perform minimum curvature survey calculations and represent the geological data in TVD or SSL depths.

The next logical step for us is to represent that data with respect to the Vertical Section (VS) instead of Measured Depth (MD) to give the user a two dimensional (cross section) view of the well.

The X (TVD/SSL) axis would be scalable as well as the Y (VS) axis. The well path could then be represented with interpretive lithology.

We could then superimpose the TVD / SSL curve data, or any data for that matter, for the deviated or build sections of the well parallel to the X (TVD/SSL) axis. We could then superimpose the VS data for the horizontal sections of the well parallel to the Y (VS) axis.

Another logical step would be representing the well path in a plan view. This time the two axes would be North/South and East/West.

Version 3.25

Now available is Power*Suite Version 3.25 – our latest release in our Version 3.2 series of software. This upgrade is free for all users with Version 3.21 or higher. It can be downloaded from our website for free, or you can request a CD of the version for $25.

Non-Upgrade Users

There are a few users remaining still using versions of the software prior to V3.2. For anyone with these versions, please keep in mind that we no longer support these older versions and that they can’t read files from newer software.

If you have been putting off upgrading, call us now to arrange terms that will make it easy for you to upgrade.

LAS Import Module

As many of the improvements since Version 3.2 have involved the ASCII/LAS Import Module, we wanted to offer it to anyone who doesn’t have it yet.

Until January 31, 2001, purchase the ASCII/LAS Import Module for only $399 – $200 off the regular $599.

So if you are tired of entering all your data manually, take advantage of this limited time offer and save yourself a great deal of time as well.

Referral Program

Do you know someone who could use our software? If you do, it could be worth a $100 referral fee for you if they mention you as the person who referred them to us. It’s that simple. You can also give us their information and if we sell them a software package, you get the referral fee.
