CSPG TRADE SHOW

The Annual CSPG Convention is coming to Calgary once again. And once again TriVision Geosystems will be there with a spectacular booth display at the Telus Convention Center for all visitors at the Convention to enjoy.

Our newest 3.25 Version of PowerSuite and our new TVD Module will be on display this year. A must see if visiting the convention on June 18-22. Stop by our booth it’s number 409, you can’t miss us. And while your visiting our booth you can enter our contest for dinner at the Red Lobster.

For your enjoyment we have improved the overall use of the program and made it easy for our users to download new software or upgrade their existing versions right over the phone. We also made our first steps with the Imperial version of Power*Suite into the US and now the European and Middle Eastern markets as well. The number of users keeps growing, but more impressive is that we are now doing it on a global scale.

The future of TriVision is very bright and for the next few years the oil and gas industry is going to be fueled with excitement. And TriVision will be there every step of the way bringing you up to date software that will capture your minds by making your job easier. Our success is purely a result of our users who not only tell us what we need to do to improve the software, but also tell others about it, spreading the word about Power*Suite throughout the industry.

For that, we offer you our sincere thanks and hope that you will continue to let us and others know how we are doing. We will continue to grow with you in the new millennium.

Sincerely,

R.W. (Bob) Sephton P.Geol.

New Man in Town

I would just like to introduce myself. My name is Brad Pitchford and I am the new Marketing Assistant at TriVision Geosystems. I have the exciting task of taking over Dwayne Roemer’s position, and I look forward to meeting all of you one day. I hope that day will be at the Trade Show at the Telus convention center June 18-22. If you can’t make it then I’m sure we will meet later on in the year.

Tired of getting the True Vertical Depth (TVD) Gamma Ray plot from the Directional Hands? Trouble visualizing your build section or deviated holes in TVD without Logging While Drilling (LWD) tools? Wishing you could view your entire log in either Subsea Level (SSL) or TVD depths? Wish no longer. We are now able to represent the strip log in three different views using our new TVD module.

As long as you have survey data (deviation or directional) we can perform minimum curvature or drift angle survey calculations. With this information we can represent the striplog data graphically through Power*Log adjusting everything on the log to either a Measured Depth (MD), TVD or SSL views. Just think of all the second-guessing that will be replaced with actual accurate data.

Additional features include:

  • The ability to print the log in the depth view you are presently viewing (MD, TVD, SSL), and in any vertical depth scale 1:48 to 1:5000.
  • The ability to mix multiple survey groups together for a single well that has multiple trajectories.
  • The ability to correlate multiple logs for individual wells on a single log with respect to either TVD or SSL presentations (Correlational Module required).
  • The ability to turn on/off the bedding contacts in the interpretive lithology track.
  • A simplified measured depth thickness field in the Formation Tops window, which calculates the thickness form one formation to the next.
  • An automated backup of the database file on the connect database window, so that if for any reason your database goes corrupt, you have a backup of your data available.

Also in Power*Curve we can update your well path in TVD or SSL depths or represent it with both. It will be the user’s preference. The TVD module is now available at the low intro price of only $449. A savings of $150 of our regular price of $599. But you have to act soon because this deal is only good until the end of the month.

So act now and get yours today!

Version 3.25

Now available is Power*Suite Version 3.25 – our latest release in our Version 3.2 series of software. This upgrade is free for all users with Version 3.21 or higher. It can be downloaded from our website for free, or you can request a CD of the version for $25. Come down to the CSPG Trade show at the Telus convention center June 18-22/2001. Booth 409. And come test it out and ask questions.

Version 4.0

Curious what we have planned for upcoming versions of Power*Suite? Power*Suite can now perform minimum curvature survey calculations and represent the geological data in TVD or SSL depths.

Version 4.0 will represent data with respect to the Vertical Section (VS) instead of Measured Depth (MD) to give the user a two dimensional (cross section) view of the well.

Version 4.0 focuses on curves. In our next release you will have the ability to.

  • Represent the back up scale and shade under the curve of the back up.
  • You will have the ability to place scales throughout the interval of the log, so that the users know exactly where the scale indication is at all times.
  • You will be able to represent data points with symbols.
  • Our newest and exciting feature is a new curve fill layer, which will enable the user to color between the curve and track edge, between two curves, around a curve and fill to a value. The fill can be a solid color, a pattern, a single Lithology, or even the interpreted

Lithology drawn by the user.

This latest feature will enhance the output from the Power*Suite line of products and will significantly augment the output giving better presentations then all the rest.
