The summer is almost over, (for us Cunucks it seems like it already) and it has been a busy one. Trivision has been busy rolling out Version 5.1, prices for Universities and Colleges and special offers to market segments.

Not only have we been busy with new programs but also a new stronger commitment to our customer service. We are here to serve you.

We continue to strive to meet and exceed your needs as a geologist. We strongly believe that Version 5.1 is head and shoulders above every other program out there. It truly is a WYSISYG program.  If you haven't got it yet, contact us for more information on the program and how it will improve your logs.

Bobs Bits
Well the summer was a great success if you were involved with the oil industry. As far as the tourism and agriculture industries that is another story. I do hope your lives or the lives of people you know were not to badly affected by all our natural disasters that plagued Canada these past few months.

Well, the upgrade process has been going relatively smoothly with most of our corporate clients having been upgraded. The last few will be done in the very near future. There were no major bugs reported and any minor programming errors that have been reported have all been fixed. That is always a concern for you and for us on a major release.

The feedback has been very good from the clients who have received the upgrade as to the increase in speed in which you can log the chip samples. That means a lot in this age of turbo drilling. Also the improved right click menu and the implementation of the click and drag method for the subintervals. We have added new tracks for the well site geologists that give them the ability to display photos, Sneider (Permeability) rock typing and Sidewall cores has further increased the scope of the application. I myself think the best improvement of all is the metafile editor and how the user can add or modify symbols to their hearts content. This, in my mind, is the best improvement we have done in ages. The core loggers have been given a multitude of new tracks for them to enter data.

The core log has been released but there are a few more things that we will be incorporating into Version 5 before we go onto the next release. We have identified 3 more categories in which we have to implement new tracks and layers for. Once they are done we should be ready to conquer the world.

Please feel free to continue your comments about the software. They are truly wanted and desired, because we do develop software for our users, either present or future and who better than you to critique the job we have done.

R. W. (Bob) Sephton, P. Geol.
