Its that time again, the much anticipated Power*Suite Version 10 is now available to the public. It has been just over a year since our last major release of Power*Suite Version 9.0, but the wait is worth it. We listened to some of our users suggestions, added some of our own new features into the mix as well as amended some existing features, and the final result was Power*Suite Version 10, the most user friendly version yet. Here's a list of some of the newest features you can expect to find: Export and Import Their INI Settings: This ability will also include their favorite’s lists, window placements, printer settings, printed settings, toolbar positions, % lithology sort order, backup folders, last opened wells, most of their System Options settings etc. This utility will help on the initial setup of our application on a new computer with a new install or upgrade. Another Printing Method: This will print the Well End and Morning reports to a Word for Windows TM format. These reports can be easily edited and formatted to the users desired report formats, so that they can be distinguished from others that use our system. Also, we gave the AM Reports printing tool a lot more functionality where the user can easily add Casing, Bit Record, Formation Tops and Survey data to make the AM reports a lot more complete by simply clicking a check box. Curve Editor Window Revamped: The user can now utilize the windows functionalities to select all the data between two points (ie SHIFT Key) or indicate individual values (CTRL Key) or even select all the values in a curve and deleting them easily. Line Separating the Track Borders in the Header can be Turned Off: This will go along with the main log portion that had been implemented in previous versions. Generic Symbol layers (both Non bed and bed restricted): Power Core users can add and build symbols for any Data type that is not included with the software. It has all the functionalities of the Sedimentary structures layer as to give you an example. The user can build as many data groups as they wish to show their data on a Core log. Ability to Populate a Favorites List: This new layer is for any user defined Generic Symbol category and can be found with the other favorites list that has been accommodated in the System Options Favorites Tab. Metafile Options Revised: Through this window you will to be able to rename both Long and Short names for any user defined symbols. Also, we retain any of the user defined custom colors that were used to draw with during the symbol creation process.
Another Curve Fill Layer: This utilizes the interpretive lithology and wrap that lithology around the Well path curve. The revolutionary part of this is that we are now able to define the bedding angle contacts and the extents of the beds over any depth. This will greatly enhance any horizontal log presentation and will do so with minimal effort.

Another Alternate Core Header: More information will be given in the header as well as a way to print the header in the Print Log window Drag and Drop Casing, Bit Record, Formation Top & Directional Survey Display Data: Can be utilized anywhere on the layer. Drag and Drop Graphics: Also this functionality can be used anywhere on the layer by the user . Indicator Points to the Track Header: We have added some more functionality to our Curve displays. If you have utilized Point Indicators on your curve layer (with or with the curve line style) we have added those Indicator Points to the Track header. Draw the Curve From & To and Indicate the Scale Change Depth: A solid line can be turned on and off if the user is displaying a curve scale change and can be done through the layer configuration window. Choice colors & thicknesses can be used by right clicking your mouse and selecting from the curve pop out menu. Off Scale Curve Values: We can now indicate these values on the layer if a linear curve wraps off scale for a second time and pegs to the track border.
** As always the user will have control of this functionality and also the control of the font that is used to display the data.** Full Control on the Display: The user is given full control for all of the fonts that are used on the log. With this version we have added the Core box data display, Core Sample Code, off scale curve values, Generic Category verbiage, Sidewall Core layer font, MDT layer font, Casing String and Date layer fonts. Line Deletion: You can now delete a line through Annotation by right clicking the menu options. More Functionality to the Accessory Portion: Detailed Rock type builder functions better. Ability to Move Accessories, Delete Multiple Accessories at once: Not only are you capable of these effects but, for those that are hard to find on a right click delete option, the user will be able to define an area for deletion of accessories within. Revisions to Drop Lists: Some revisions were added to the drop lists in the Rock Type Builder. Rubble: In the Sample Quality List we have added Rubble to help out our core loggers. Preserved and Missing: Was added to the No Data list. Questionable and Not Visible: Is now included our Contacts list. TVD Thickness Field to Formation Report: This can be calculated automatically for you if you have a formation top that is deeper than the top you would be calculating for. (We have revamped all the reports to also include this field.) Ability to Export All Data at Once: Includes all the well data, the user defined symbols, the generic categories, the geological expansion dictionary & all the favorites lists, the window & toolbar placements and all the things determined in the system options window. This will make upgrading and migrating from one computer to another very simple.
